Organic Chemistry - From Beginner to Expert

Let me start by asking you this…

Let’s say you just got the most recent iPhone. Now, do you want to read a manual on how to use it? Or would you prefer to start using it NOW?

Yeah, me too!

Well, I feel that organic chemistry should be the same way. You should be able to understand organic chemistry and start working problems immediately. And that is the point of this course.

I began teaching and tutoring OChem back in 1998. Since that time, the amount of resources available to help students is astronomical. However, the overall situation has not changed. Students still struggle with organic chemistry and many dislike the class.

Why is this?

The story about organic chemistry has not changed!

Here are a few you might have heard – It’s a weed-out course, many students fail, you will fail, it’s hard, it’s time consuming, it’s complicated, you won’t like it, good luck (with sarcasm), you won’t have a life, you may have to take it again, it will wreck your GPA, it may keep you out of medicinal school…and on and on.

Now imagine if your friend said, “Hey! I have someone I want you to meet.” But they then proceeded to say, “However, you probably won’t like them. And this is why - they are complicated, suffocating, clingy, lazy, etc.”

How many of you are going to do everything to avoid them?

So – how is this any different than what you’ve heard about organic chemistry?

The story we hear about something dramatically influences how we see and experience something.

Now, I want to share with you a different story. And this story is backed up by years of teaching the material.

Organic chemistry is simple, easy and for everyone. There is a very simple, effective and direct way to learn the material that allows you to start using it immediately. No matter where you are in the class, there are simple and effective ways to immediately increase your understanding and grade.
